Celebrities Who Had Troubles With The Law

Everybody has imperfections and shortcomings and celebrities aren’t exempt from them either. In this list, we look at seven celebrities who had some trouble with the law.

Tim Allen

Tim Allen was known mostly for his roles as Tim Taylor in Home Improvement and as Buzz Lightyear in the globally renowned Toy Story trilogy. But before he became known for those roles, Allen was spent two years in prison in the 70s after having been found with more than 650 grams of *******.

Michael Phelps

Back in 2014, Olympics swimmer Michael Phelps was arrested for driving under the influence. He was sentenced to probation along with a suspension after pleading guilty. Phelps said after the arrest that he was in “a really dark place” at the time.

Winona Ryder

Winona Ryder is mostly known today for her role in the Netflix series “Stranger Things” as well as a lot of other films such as Edward Scissorhands and Black Swan. Back in 2001, Ryder was arrested for shoplifting merchandise from a Beverly Hills outpost to the tune of more than 5000 U.S. dollars. She was sentenced to community service along with probation and a fine.

Lindsay Lohan

Most people would recognize Lindsay Lohan for her roles in “Mean Girls”, “Freaky Friday” and “Herbie: Fully Loaded” as well as the number of arrests that she’s had.  We’ll focus on one incident in 2007 where she was arrested for DUI and possession of *******. With that, she was served with three-year probation and a day in jail. In the years following, she would go to jail yet again for a few hours for violating her probation.

Shia LaBeouf

Following the seemingly eventual fate that child stars suffer, Shia LaBeouf has had multiple encounters with the law. His most recent one was in 2017 when he was arrested for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness somewhere in Georgia. The police department responsible for his arrest said that the cause of it all was because no one would give him a cigarette.

Martha Stewart

TV Personality Martha Stewart was accused of securities fraud in 2003 and was later sentenced to five months in jail a year later in 2004. In 2017, Martha would go on to say “It was horrifying, and no one — no one — should have to go through that kind of indignity, really, except for murderers, and there are a few other categories.”

Steve-O was widely known for his crazy antics along with the likes of Bam Margera and Johnny Knoxville in the hit MTV show “Jackass”. Steve-O has a lot of trouble with the law in the past with most of it involving drugs. Steve-O was arrested in 2002 for obscenity and assault in Louisiana and was served with a year of probation. Steve-O would later be arrested twice in 2003: in Pennsylvania for public urination and in Sweden for, yet again, drug-related issues. Steve-O would plead guilty in 2008 for possession of *******.
